I'm a native Washingtonian and I currently work as a freelance photojournalist in the Washington, D.C. area. I cover assignments on every level from events, sports, politics, and anything in between.
In an article by Fred R. Barnard he stated “ A picture is worth a thousand words “. That refers to the notion that a complex idea can be conveyed with just a signle still image. It also aptly characterizes one of the main goals of visualization, namely making it possible to absorb large amounts of data quickly. As a photojournalist I try to accomplish this goal in all of my photos. Examples include ;,The mother and father who just lost their son after he was killed in a shooting, firefighters extinguishing a house fire or a child waving a flag on the 4th of July.
I started taking photos of fire and police incidents as a child while with my father who was a spot news photojournalist in the 50's 60's and 70's. In the mid 90's I sold my first photo and video of a quadruple shooting in Riverdale, MD to the media and from then on I never stopped.
I'm one of only a few people in the Washington DC area to cover overnight spot news incidents, such as police and fire incidents. On January 3, 2007, Clarence Williams, Washington Post Staff Reporter, wrote an article on my work as a freelance photojournalist, “Chasing The Heat “.
In April of 2010, I became a freelance photojournalist/reporter for the Prince George’s Sentinel Newspaper. I cover fire and police incidents as well as general assignment stories.
